Personal training with me goes beyond programming workouts. It’s a collaborative process of understanding how your body moves, identifying what’s getting in the way, and building a practice that’s genuinely yours.
Every program starts from the ground up: posture and stability first, then biomechanics, then movement. That foundation matters, because movement built on a solid base is both safer and more sustainable than fitness pursued without it.
What We Work On
Every client is different, but the work typically draws from some combination of:
- Corrective exercise: identifying and addressing postural imbalances, movement compensations, and muscular dysfunction
- Functional strength training: building real-world strength through calisthenics, resistance training, and compound movement patterns
- Mobility and flexibility: keeping your joints healthy and your range of motion wide
- Balance and stability: especially important as we age, and foundational to everything else
- Health and nutrition coaching: habit-based coaching to support your goals beyond the session
Specializations
I have particular experience working with the following populations:
- Older adults and midlife clients navigating the physical changes that come with age.
- Chronic conditions, including heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, COPD, osteoporosis, stroke, and Parkinson’s disease. Exercise is one of the most powerful tools available for managing these conditions, and I take seriously the responsibility of programming safely and effectively in this space.
- Brain health. I work with clients living with mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease, using exercise programming that supports cognitive function, neuroplasticity, and quality of life.
- Musculoskeletal injuries and surgical recovery, by supporting clients before and after procedures involving the shoulder, hip, and knee. I work alongside your medical and physical therapy team to help you bridge the gap between discharge and returning to full, confident movement.
- Prenatal and postnatal fitness. Pregnancy and new parenthood are among life’s most extraordinary chapters, and movement can be a source of strength and joy throughout. I help clients prepare for all three phases – pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood – with safe, trimester-appropriate programming, and support core recovery and pelvic floor work after birth. And because the postnatal body deserves ongoing attention well beyond the early months, this work is available at any stage of the postpartum journey — whether you’re six weeks or six years out.
