Greetings from Fort Collins, Colorado!
I am Ethan, the guy running this page, writing the blog posts, and providing the fitness training and health coaching to clients. You are equally likely to find me practicing Animal Flow, designing Vinyasa yoga classes, doing plyometrics in the gym, exploring Colorado’s great outdoors, or just wandering around Fort Collin’s 40,000 acres of natural areas with my partner and our Shiba Inu.
I am an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Health Coach. I also hold the following qualifications:
- Corrective Exercise Specialist (ACE & NASM)
- Functional Training Specialist (ACE)
- Fitness Nutrition Specialist (ACE)
- Senior Fitness Specialist (ACE)
- Weight Management Specialist (ACE)
- Behavior Change Specialist (ACE)
- Certified Animal Flow Instructor
- ProNatal Pre/Postnatal Fitness Specialist
- Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) – 200 hrs
I am currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Integrative Health Professions at Front Range Community College.
I work with a diverse clientele, although I do have a soft spot for those dealing with issues related to middle and older age (as I am dealing with many of them myself). My goal as a health coach is a simple one – to help my clients acquire the confidence to achieve their health goals and live their best life.
I have helped clients manage their weight, including to overcome overweight and obesity, but more importantly to gain confidence in their body and improve their self-image. I coach my clients to develop sustainable healthy eating habits that they would enjoy for life. I also combine health coaching and fitness training to help clients gain (or more usually, regain) the functional strength needed to perform activities of daily living.
My coaching philosophy is summed up by the name of this website. I work with clients to uncover health behavior change solutions that are innate and intuitive to them. I believe that an idea or concept that is fundamentally familiar to an individual stands a much better chance of success. Progress made towards a health goal, no matter how small, generates momentum for further, and bigger, changes.
